Human cadaver skin grafts are recovered from donors with informed consent from the next of kin. After a careful medical and social history screening, serological testing and assessment of risk factors tissue is made available for burn, trauma and wound closure patients. Skin grafts are recovered from the chest, back, and the front and back of the legs of the donor. They have a thickness of approximately 15/1000 of an inch.

Key Benefits

  • Wound closure and prevention of the loss of fluids.
  • Decreased surface exposure to contaminants, therefore decreased risk of infection.
  • Decreased frequency of surgical debridement when using allograft versus use of xenograft tissue.
